13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.

14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Someone once said that nothing in life is free!

How true our food that we put on the table, the fuel that propels our cars, the electricity that powers are technology, the gas that heats us, the clothes that we wear they all cost us financially.

Or what about the time we give voluntarily to the Church or club we belong to, true that might not cost us financially but it costs us something more valuable and that is our time.

I know all of us at Kingdom Vision promote Christian Events regularly and firmly believe that those events can encourage, equip and empower those taking part and those who attend. I know for myself that God often speaks to me at events, partly because I have an expectation that He will and because I am in a position to hear Him clearly.

The best use of life is Love.
The best expression of Love is time.
The Best time to Love is now.
Rick Warren

You will be happy to hear that I gave my wife a personalized Valentines card and pretty sparkly red rose. However nice a thought those gifts are they would mean nothing if I didn’t actually love her. So they are just symbols of my love for her and however commercialized you think Valentine’s Day is, I still think that is important to show love to our parents, families, friends and spouses every day.

I recently had a weekend holiday break in Mullion of all places. Me, Becky (my wife) and Joshua (my 2 year old) left our comfortable family home in Falmouth and traveled a short distance to a Haven Holiday site to spend the weekend relaxing and enjoying the site’s fantastic facilities. There was an amusements, bowling alley, dance floor, five a side pitch, indoor soft play area and of course a fully fledged swimming pool.

Joshua was particularly excited to go swimming and was bitterly disappointed when he had to wait…..half an hour for it to open!

The writer of Ecclesiastes penned this famous verse.

Ecclesiastes 3:1

New International Version (NIV)

“There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens”

There are four seasons in a year, these are: spring, summer, autumn and Winter. In Cornwall all four are often present in one day. How is it that where I live on the South coast it could be truly miserable weather whereas on the North coast they are experiencing a mini heat wave?
